Healing – Holy Communion

Written by

Last night at the facilitators’ meeting, we broke bread referencing “A lamb for a household” (Exodus 12), and I remember smirking, almost rolling my eyes when our animals were mentioned on the list. But I pondered on it before I went to sleep.

Fast forward to 5:45 a.m. today, my little one wakes me up, saying, “Mommy, Skyler is sick.” (Skyler is her pet dog.) His right eye is swollen shut, and he can’t open it. I’m like, “What now? I’m not spending a dime on a vet today, please.”

So I go to my fridge, still fired up from my late-night meditation, and I say, “Skyler, come here. Take Jesus’ body and blood and be healed. Before your owner comes back from school, your eyes will be back to normal.” I gave him a wafer, which he gobbled up, and spilled a little wine on the floor, which he lapped up.

Brethren, by 2 p.m. today, there was no sign of whatever caused the swelling—his eyes were back to normal. I’m amazed. I truly am. If God can do this for a family pet, how much more for the head of the home.

This He did for a canine’s health, how much more for you, His living temple. Jesus is a healer and a restorer.
