Approved Unto God

The Revival School is not a ministry training school for early believers. Our culture of freedom and responsibility emphasises our trust in one another to conduct ourselves honourably, and live lives that reflect the standard of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Purity

Avoid sinful sexual behaviour and inappropriate involvement. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity. Resist temptation: “Among you, there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality”

Be consistent and intentional in prayer and scriptural study: “Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”

Grace and Mercy

We must fulfil our responsibilities to administer justice and address wrongful behaviour. In doing so, temper judgement with mercy and refrain from exacting the maximum admissible penalty for an offence, if a fair, less painful decision can be made.

God not only shows us mercy but favour and blessing which are likely undeserved. We are encouraged to cultivate this same attitude, seeking to be instruments of God’s grace to enrich the lives of others irrespective of merit as we have the opportunity to do so.

Respect and Submission

The temptation to feel superior to others because of status or God-given abilities must be strongly resisted. A respectful attitude should characterise all Christians and especially those exercising leadership.

Recognizing every individual as a person for whom Christ died, will help us to give due respect to others. Particularly, respect should be shown to those deserving of honour or recognition, such as the elderly and godly leaders.

Love

An attitude of love is the mark of a true follower of Christ (John 13:35) and should be the outstanding standard of all Christian leaders.

Some attributes associated with love as described in 1 Cor 13:4 – 13 are kindness, patience, humility, forgiveness and self-control.

Servant Leadership

The attitude of servant leadership is best exemplified by Jesus. Mature Christian leaders should see themselves as serving the Body of Christ, as opposed to using their position to have others serve them.

Don’t choose your behaviour out of fear that you will be punished. Do the right thing because you do not want to disappoint God, your leaders, and yourself. THINK- WHAT WILL JESUS DO?
